Jingci New Materials
JCAFM-W White Standard Filter Media is made from premium glass raw material through precision crushing and graded screening, giving regular particles, uniform sizing and high mechanical strength. It is designed for swimming pools, landscape water, municipal drinking water and wastewater treatment, replacing conventional quartz sand directly — improving filtration accuracy several times over while significantly reducing backwash water consumption.

JCAFM-W White Standard Filter Media is a high-performance glass filter medium developed specifically for the water treatment industry. Made from premium glass raw material and processed through industrial precision crushing and multi-stage screening, it is formed into regular, size-controlled filtration particles. Every granule is rigorously classified to ensure uniform size distribution and a well-structured pore network, creating a stable filtration layer that captures solids efficiently at low resistance.
Compared with conventional quartz sand media, JCAFM White Standard Filter Media offers greater particle uniformity, better porosity and higher mechanical strength. At the same filtration flow rate it captures finer suspended solids, and during backwashing the bed expands more readily and releases captured material more easily — significantly reducing backwash water consumption, extending filtration cycles and cutting maintenance frequency.
Precision crushing and screening produce more uniform particles that form a dense, stable filtration layer with moderate porosity. The bed holds a large solids load without caking, extending filtration cycles and reducing backwash frequency for more stable operation and markedly lower effluent turbidity.
Uniform size distribution and well-graded particles make captured solids easier to release during backwashing. With moderate bed expansion and shorter backwash times, backwash water consumption falls by more than 30% versus conventional quartz sand, sharply reducing plant self-use water and operating costs.
Glass is chemically stable and resistant to acid and alkali attack, so it neither dissolves nor leaches in long-term operation. Its high mechanical strength means repeated backwashing does not break it down, and the 8–10 year design life greatly reduces replacement frequency and labour cost.
Particle size specifications are fully compatible with mainstream sand filtration equipment, so the media can be loaded straight into existing filters as a replacement: no equipment modification, no distributor replacement and no changes to operating parameters. Operation can resume immediately after loading, minimizing retrofit downtime.
Glass particles are regular in shape and, unlike quartz sand, do not bond and cake together over time. Bed expansion during backwash is uniform, with no localized channelling or media loss, so the filter layer stays structurally stable and filtration performance remains consistent.
Four size grades cover the full range from fine to coarse filtration and fit pressure filters, gravity sand filters and multi-media filters. They are widely used in swimming pool water treatment, landscape water purification, municipal drinking water plants, and industrial and domestic wastewater treatment.

A multi-stage vibrating screening system classifies glass particles precisely into four size bands. Each band has a narrow, highly uniform distribution with an upper/lower ratio within 2–4 times, ensuring a dense and stable filter layer that prevents fine particles from passing through or coarse particles from bridging.
Glass particles are regular in shape with smooth surfaces, forming a uniform, well-connected pore structure when packed. Compared with irregularly shaped quartz sand, porosity is around 15–20% higher, reducing filtration resistance and extending filtration cycles while maintaining capture efficiency.
Glass inherently offers excellent compressive strength and wear resistance. Crushed particles have no micro-cracks or weak surfaces, so long-term backwash friction and repeated water scouring do not break them down. Media attrition is extremely low and service life is long.
Glass is chemically inert and resistant to acid, alkali and oxidation, with stable performance across pH 2–14. Prolonged immersion releases no harmful ions and does not alter the water's chemical balance, making it suitable for drinking water treatment. It also tolerates disinfectants such as chlorine and ozone well.
Swimming pools circulate large volumes of water, have strict limits on turbidity and need tight control of backwash water use. With its high filtration accuracy and low backwash demand, JCAFM White Standard Filter Media lowers pool turbidity below 0.5 NTU while cutting backwash water — an ideal medium for pool sand filters. Glass is chemically inert, so it does not disturb the pool water balance and is fully compatible with chlorine and ozone disinfection.
Man-made lakes, ornamental ponds and fountains are prone to algal growth and suspended solids. JCAFM White Standard Filter Media effectively removes suspended particles, algal spores and some colloidal matter, improving clarity and keeping landscape water clean. Its long life reduces media replacement and maintenance, making it particularly suitable for landscape filtration systems where frequent intervention is impractical.
Municipal drinking water plants have strict requirements for filtered water turbidity and operating stability. As a direct replacement for quartz sand, JCAFM White Standard Filter Media significantly improves filtered water quality and lowers outlet turbidity without modifying existing sand filter beds. Its chemical inertness and lack of harmful ion leaching meet the hygiene requirements for drinking water treatment materials, safeguarding supply safety.
In advanced treatment of industrial and domestic wastewater, filtration is the key step in securing reuse water quality. JCAFM White Standard Filter Media offers high mechanical strength, fouling resistance and easy backwashing, and withstands high suspended solids loads. It suits advanced filtration after secondary treatment and water reuse filtration. Used with multi-layer grading it effectively removes residual suspended solids and some colloidal contaminants.
